Guided Implant Placement

Cooper Moss Advanced Dentistry is now placing implants through the process of guided implant surgery. Technology and a lot of training now allows us to take care of yet another of our patients’ dental needs by replacing teeth that have been lost due to extensive decay, fractures, and/or periodontal bone loss.

Cases are carefully selected and using the Galileo’s 3D imaging system, integrated with Cerec and implant planning software, dental implants are placed using a “completely guided” technique. This makes the procedure far more precise and efficient than ever before.

The Procedure: First, a 3D image is taken that allows us to see the bone and structures surrounding the implant site. Also, the eventual crown is “virtually” created to help determine the best implant position. Using advanced dental software, we can virtually place the implant making sure it is securely within the bone and avoiding such anatomy as sinuses and nerves.

Next, all the information is taken and used to construct a custom surgical guide that gives us the precision and accuracy of the planned result to within tenths of a millimeter!

Not only is this method more precise, but it also makes for a more conservative surgical approach that allows for much faster healing and a significant reduction in post-operative pain and swelling.
